JIARONG LI
Rainforest
-2020
The project is about simulated a place in my memory that I would most like to go back to, which is the tropical rainforest. The rainforest environment is relaxing and decompressing for me. I created this scene using some natural materials combined with cardboard and cardboard.

My inspiration came from a trip to Otway National Park last three years, and the forest there never left my mind. Then I began to think about what the forest atmosphere was like. I find that the first feeling in my mind is that the forest is all green. It gives me a feeling of being close to nature, and makes me feel very relaxed. And the environment is quiet in the forest. Then I began to think about how to start my project, how to make a lot of trees and plants, and what materials could be used to reflect the atmosphere. How to use light and how to photograph.
At the beginning I used cardboard to mimic the tree, but it didn't work very well. It didn't feel like being in nature, so I started looking for some natural materials. I picked up some fallen leaves and used them to make a tree with a more realistic effect. And Then I took the stems of the dying roses in my home and used them as tree branches, and I glued them together. Then I had my first model

I tried to add a background board and show the diversity of forest species, which would make the atmosphere better. I also found a way for trees to stand there firmly, by attaching them to cucumbers. Because in the original model I tried many kinds of glue but couldn't fix them properly. I also added a stream, some rocks, and small animals to help me set the atmosphere.
